Quick answer

The Atlantic Immigration Program helps designated employers in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island hire foreign workers and international graduates for permanent residence. You need a qualifying job offer from a designated employer and provincial endorsement before applying for PR.

Who can apply?

You may qualify if you plan to live in an Atlantic province and meet the program rules for job offer, work experience or graduate eligibility, education, language, settlement funds, and admissibility.

Key steps

  1. Get a job offer from a designated Atlantic employer.
  2. Get a settlement plan from an approved settlement service provider.
  3. Employer submits the endorsement request to the province.
  4. Receive a Certificate of Endorsement.
  5. Submit the permanent residence application to IRCC.

Documents to prepare

Common documents include job offer, endorsement certificate, language test results, ECA if needed, settlement plan, proof of funds where required, passports, police certificates, civil documents, and work reference letters.

Optional work permit

Some candidates may be eligible for an optional temporary work permit while the permanent residence application is being prepared or processed. This must be assessed carefully because the job offer and endorsement-related forms must align.
